We stroked them and had a lot of fun. The guys were great and enjoying every minute of the it. The day is what fishing is all about PURE FUN! The bite is awesome I'm finding new spots everyday. I caught a few on the new super soft Wave Tiki Stick what a great bait. The afternoon bite is the best so hit snooze and sleep in. My best advice for a great day is deep structure fish it super slow and you will have success. We had a couple double hook ups and the picture of the graph is what came up with the two hooked fish.

10/12 Diamond Valley

I had the pleasure of fishing with a great couple today and we were treated to a lot of nice fish. The weather was hot and the fishing was hotter we had 20 plus fish. The size was hard to come buy but we did catch a few quality fish. The lake is really fun right now, and the trick to catching a bunch is finding a hidden hump that hasn't been fished. The lake is dropping and there are some great spots coming into play. The fishing wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be, but we still caught over 20 fish. We started shallow with the wind and clouds. I thought we might get a reaction bite after an hour without a bite we went out to my deep spots and started catching them right away. The bite just got better as the day went on. Right before we left they were bitting good, but the heavy wind made it to hard to hold on the best spot. DV is always really fun book a trip if you want to catch some nice fish.

9/30 DIamond Valley

The fishing is still really fun with lots of bass being caught, the trouble is finding the big fish. We fished a little over a half day and caught at least 20 mostly on worms deep. I still love this place it's so awesome because any cast can be a giant. The shad are up and fish are boiling on them but they can be tough to catch. The afternoon bite is way better then the morning so you don't have to rush out early. I think some good fish will show up next week because of the change in weather that's on the way. The spinnerbait bite was really good, and so were a bunch of different reaction baits. The fishing was awesome because of a rain storm that moved through and caused lots of nice fish to bite. Fish shallow around the grass with reaction baits if you find a area holding fish slow down with a worm. Look around the main launch area for boiling stripers if you see them try a walking topwater. The lake is still falling and the bass are holding tight to every bush. There is a nice reaction bite, if that fails the drop shot is always good. The busting fish are doing their thing in different parts of the lake so look for that bite. This lake seems to always have biting fish so get out there!

8/23 Really fun Diamond Valley!!

DV is holding up it continues to impress me every trip. The cool thing is there is always a way to catch them. The lake has been a little different each trip, but if you figure out the trick it gets fun fast. Sometimes it's a bait thing and other times it's figuring out the mood of the fish. The one thing that's for sure is, it's loaded with nice bass. Thank you to my guests it was a lot of fun, and the triple hook up to close the day was awesome.

8/16 DVL- Kentucky boys jerk on some good ones!!

The bite changed up a little the afternoons have been really good, but this morning is when the big fish decided to bite. The numbers have been better then today with about 25-30 fish on an average day, but size has been the issue. Today we caught around 20 but had one pushing 6 and another 5 and they bit first thing. Topwater is still the way to get the big fish stick with it even when it's slow they bite when your not expecting it. Structure is still good for numbers but a 3 is a good one. Fish a wacky rigged Tiki Stick and a Robo worm on a drop shot for the deep fish. Fish the wacky rig weightless, just be patient and fish real slow. Fish a Spook and a Rico on the topwater fish. The water temp is about 80 and the water is still ultra clear.

8/11 El Cap

The lake was a little slower than what I though it would be. The morning was slow, but the afternoon got pretty good. It seems like the afternoon bite lately is the best. The high sun and wind seem to really position the structure fish right on the breaks. The key depth is 30-40 feet, get real excited if it's around 2PM and you see good marks on the graph because your going to catch them. Drop shot is still a good bet a 6" Robo nose hooked with a six inch tag gets bites. Check the breaking fish in the afternoons we got our better fish then thanks to George. It was his idea to leave the structure and look for breakers it worked out! I got on the water with some of my buddies today and we caught over 30 bass. The main problem was no big ones, but it was still a ton of fun. The fish are up and busting shad early, but they're tough to catch. Topwater plugs and Scroungers are the best bet. If they're busting but won't eat just fish around the area with worms you'll pick up a few. The structure bite is the best for numbers for sure 30 feet seems to be the right depth. We got on the water early in hopes of a 5 plus pound topwater fish, but no takers. I did hear there was a 9 caught that morning though. Sutherland has the potential for big fish, that's why we went even though we heard it was slow. There are fish busting on shad out in the middle of the lake, but few and far between. We caught several on a drop shop size was the problem with that. The best bite came on a buzzbait late in the afternoon on a windy bank. I think it will get better before summer is over the next time I go I'll do a half day and fish until dark.

7/30 Brian capitalizes on great Diamond Valley bite!

The fishing at DV is very good. The fish are doing a little bit of everything. They are busting shad, and there is also a great worm bite. The water is very clear and the temp is in the high 70's. We fished topwater for a while, and caught some good ones then moved to offshore structure. The structure is where it really went down, we were able to sit on a couple of spots and catch multiple bass. We didn't catch any big ones the biggest was around 4 and a half, but we caught a bunch of 3 pounders. It was a great trip because were were able to fish many different techniques, and catch fish with all of them. The fishing is awesome right now book a trip I gaurantee you'll be glad you did.

7/28 Robert and Mikey Crush Cap!

Today was really fun the bite was a little slower, but we still managed some nice fish. We had our chances at a really awesome day, but we were all having trouble putting them in the boat. The quagga mussels are some line fraying suckers. It's a bummer when you have a nice fished hooked and it runs you up in a tree and snaps you off. We had reaction fish and worm fish. The temp is around 78, and the water has some nice color to it. Remember to fish your worms really slow you will get more bites. I've learned if you think your fishing slow fish even slower. Robo Worms and a new prototype Wave Fishing craw rigged on a shaky head were the ticket. Congrats Robert and Mikey on a great day!!!

7/22 El Cap

The fishing is still really good. The worm bite is awesome and so is the reaction bite. Fish your reaction baits early and when the wind picks up in the afternoon. The worm bite is good all day. I see lots of suspended fish on my graph, but there not coming up all the way and busting just yet. I fished with a great fisherman today, and we caught over 20 fish. It was a ton of fun and a nice welcome home from the US Open. The fishing was a little tougher than I had expected, I think the strong wind and extra boat traffic was to blame. They are really pulling the water down fast, and it's making the fish suspend and move out deeper. There are catchable fish on the bottom in 25 feet on main lake points. The drop shot was the best again for us. Watch out for the mussels down there, if your breaking of more then normal that's why. The fish are on there way into the summer pattern for sure. Thanks to my guests for making it an enjoyable day on the water, and I'm glad I could witness a first time ever catch!

6/30 Don's day at El Cap

The lake continues to be fantastic we had 15 fish by 11:00am. I had some great guys that made the trip feel like a vacation. They treated me to nice hotels, and steak dinners best of all the fishing was insane. We started out at Clear Lake to find the lake covered up with bed fish. The boys caught upwards of 50 fish a day between them, and all were in the 3-6 pound range. The trick was fish the north end and look for the sand and rock bottoms. If your looking for bed fish make sure to blind cast into the grass pockets as you look. Look at the long points also, there are fish off the ends spawning deep. The water is clean with around 8 feet vis.

Next we hit the Delta to find tougher conditions and less fish, but still managed a few nice ones on topwater. There's a ton of grass up and I suspect punching is the way to go. If you want to get out of town, and fish an awesome lake book a road trip I have special pricing, and it's always an adventure.

6/17 El Cap and good times!!!

Cap is still great between the stained water, and bushes it's hard to beat. There's a spinnerbait bite and a crank bite that's pretty wide open for the first few hours. Try to fish your spinnerbait slow and keep in contact with all the bushes. I like to use the LC BDS 3 for the crank it's all most as weedless as a spinnerbait. Cast it out, and grind it slowly into the bushes if it starts to hang up stop reeling and let it float out. This type of fishing is great and won't last forever out so take advantage of it. The fishing is hot 10-40 fish has been the norm on my trips. I was fortunate to get out on the lake with some great guys, and such great fishing. Last thing you can use heavy line on both lures 15 pound is good. Best of luck!!!

Fun fishing at El Cap!!

El Cap is really fun right now, the water has stain to it and the fish are in the bushes. That's a combo for some fun flipping and reaction baits. The morning bite seems to be the best as the bite tapered off after 10 for me. We caught lots of fish up to three pounds in the first few hours of the day. The whole lake seems to be good we caught fish everywhere we went. The fishing has been great all year this place is just an awesome place to fish. We haven't had a fish over 5 yet this week but the 2-4 pounders are still on the chew. Cullen had a chance at one over six first thing on a 7" CL8Bait but she made a huge jump and shook the bait. His brother Clayton had another huge fish on, I believe over eight and that one didn't make it in the boat either. That fished was hooked on a top secret BucketMouth Adventure technique, you have to book a trip to learn that one. We had are chances for a huge day!! The fish are still in 0-30 feet of water, it seems if your fishing around trees your in good shape. If it's slow try dragging a Carolina rigged lizard around in 15-30 feet it got bit well.

Sutherland 5-15

Sutherland continues to be my favorite lake for a great chance for a big bite. The weather was nasty today with wind and a light rain. The big bite still came though Rudy caught a 9.80 it was a beautiful female that was spawning on the full moon. The fish are doing everything from chasing bait to spawning, there is a good spinnerbait bite in the morning. The overcast skies helped that bite all day today and there were some really nice fish caught. The water is stained 2 foot vis there is plenty of bushes and rock so it's a really fun lake to fish. The water temp is 68-70. This lake is only open to boats on Sat and Sun so book your trips early. I highly suggest booking a trip here soon if your looking for a good chance at a fish over six. Seven's and eights have been common so far this year. The fish are bitting great the numbers are really good but you have to work for the big bites. Be patient because they will come try a 3/8oz jig in green pumpkin for the better fish, this bite is good real early and then latter when the wind comes up. The numbers are on a Tikki Stick rigged wacky style and a drop shot with a six inch worm. The water temp is 67 and the water is fairly clear. They don't seem to be line shy though the jig fish were on 20 pound. The key was little secondary corners with bushes the main lake points are really good but they are getting pounded. If you see one that hasn't been fished in 15 min go hit it you'll most likely catch one. The full moon is good for big ones lets get on the water soon!! The fish that were busting and chasing shad have slowed a bit. If your out early there is still some top water action going on, but it seems to be a little random. The best bite I found was on a 6" worm fished on a drop shot very slow. The fish are a little deeper like 10 to 20 and I was catching them very shallow a week ago. The bite seemed to be point related and there had to be some big rock and brown brush. The quality was good, I had a cool guy named Brant from Idaho catch his personal best largemouth that went right a 7 pounds. I have openings for the week of May 9th if you want to get out and catch some fish.

El Cap and Sutherland

The Fishing still continues to be fantastic at both lakes. El Cap is more of numbers lake right now and the big fish are harder to come by. I can't stress enough at Cap to fish your drop shot super slow and from 0-4 feet deep. If you want to get bites try it. The trick is really slow I mean to the point where you can hardly stand it. The Wave Tiki Stick fished the same way is the best bet for 3 pound and bigger fish. There are fish starting to school on bait with the warmer weather, and once the spawn wraps up that will be the best way to get bites.

Sutherland still is awesome I grew up on that lake and I love it. There is a good combo of stained water, bushes and rock. It continues to kick out big fish right now I had a trip yesterday and we had a 7.45 look for the video soon. My guest a 15 year old girl catches it and it's her first bass ever. The Tiki Stick and Chatterbait are great up there right now. The bite is slow but your chances for a five plus are very good. Be pumped up for that big one every time your line gets tight.

El Cap

I've been out the last two days fishing in cold nasty weather, the upside... the lake has been empty and the fishing is fantastic. After last nights rain the little creeks are running and the lake is still rising. It's awesome to see the lake so healthy there are huge schools of shad all over, tons of cover for all the fry and life everywhere you look. In the morning the fish are schooling on bait up on the bank and overtop of the deeper trees. Small swimbaits, flukes, and topwater baits like a pop R are all good. That bite will slow around 10 then fish a dropshot on the bank the key is ultra slow. I haven't caught any real big fish but at least one 4 pounder every trip. Numbers are there though at least 20 a day. I have trips open next week lets get out there, I know you will have a great time!!

Diamond Valley

I took a great couple out today for a birthday, the weather stunk with light rain and wind all day. The fishing on the other hand was awesome. We caught 20 fish and our biggest was right at five pounds. The quality of fish at this lake is unreal, there are so many nice fish. It's really high and there are lots of bushes in the water. The Tiki Stick and Slim Senko were the best baits fished real slow on 6 pound. I kept the boat in 30 feet and made long cast to the flooded bushes. most of the bites were in 10 -15 feet. Right now is a great time to go catch a bunch of 3-5 pounders and have a great chance at an 8 or bigger. We also did well on a texas rigged 7 inch Robo in the Peoples color. The fishing is basic bass 101 just fish what looks good and you will smoke em. I have trips open next week lets get out and jack a few!!!

El Cap

I was out at Cap 2 days last week, the bite is so good it's crazy. There are fish spawning, guarding fry, chasing bait and boiling. Post spawn fish and pre spawn fish are on bait heavy in the back of the long arm. The boiling fish bite real good for a few hours and then the worm bite on the bank goes off for the rest of the day. I've been catching them on topwater baits, under spins, scroungers, Tiki Sticks and Robo worms. It's hard to beat a weightless Tiki Stick in the new fresh grass fished from 0-3 feet of water. If you want to catch a ton but a lot of them are under 15 inches try a light weight on a drop shot shot in 0-3. I have a couple days still open this week so book a trip if your ready to catch some nice fish. I promise you will leave with a big smile.

El Cap

I was out yesterday and the fish are really starting to bite. The water is still coming up and the fresh grass in the back is holding lots of new males. There is going to be a big wave of spawning fish in the next few weeks. The big females are sunning in the willow trees closest to all the males. A light drop shot fished shallow around the grass will get the males to bite. The females are a little tougher a long cast with a Tiki Stick or Senko is a good bet. If you want to learn how to pitch and flip it's a great time. The fish are on fire at both lakes with 15 - 25 keepers on average. There are solid fish to be had 3 - 7 pounders is what I have seen in the last few days. It's nice to see the lakes so full and with this rain were getting, I can't wait to see them at the end of the week. Sutherland has good water color you can get away with big line and a flipping stick. Cap is super clear they're fish on beds and fish chasing bait in the back. There both awesome it's a great time to be on the water. Don't wait lets get out there!!

New Boat Coming Soon

I'm picking up my new boat this week.
